I am a family guy first, maybe a little too protective but "my girls' are everything to me. Providing for and protecting them from physical and emotional harm is my mission in life.
I never thought I would go through life without a son (which is probably why I behave like "little boy" sometimes) but I can honestly say, I would not have it any other way. After the fear and pain that I may have caused to mothers and fathers of teenage girls all over the greater Pittsburgh area when I was in my adolescent years; I deserve to walk in their shoes as the father of 2 beautiful young girls. And though I know what insensitive assholes men can be; I am not one of those men. I am respectful, attentive, polite and mindful that women are a much more delicate and fragile being than are men but I am also Irish so I am as infused with emotion as only my Irish heritage, a beautiful woman and good whiskey can make me!
I am probably more of a gal's guy, I love to cook and make sure that all of the women are taken care of before attending to my other guests. I do not enjoy cooking for children in general because most do not comprehend the love and strategy put into the creation of enjoyable food. The balance between the physical preparation and state of mind of the preparer are the keys to any great meal and I find that the farmers market provides contents for the meal while a great bourbon or cabernet takes care of the chef du jour's mentality. Even though I do enjoy talking to and socializing with women much more than men and not only to foster my ego (and in the case of wife...my nether regions!), but make no mistake..I would rather watch football, play golf, and talk about girls with a bunch of guys than go to an afternoon chick flick or the ghost walk again (sorry Trace).
In the near future and as soon as I am able, I will entertain for a living; having friends and family to my pub for lunch and dinner daily and for breakfast and "bloodies" on Saturdays and Sunday.
My Philosophy about Dinner...I believe in making dinner instead of dining out. I enjoy the fellowship and the time that is spent while preparing the food while noshing on cheese and meats and wine with people that intrigue me. There is only so much time that we all have so if you have the inclination to invite me out to dinner...don't! Invite me over to your place; I will do the cooking!
